About the Author
Paul Nelson is a middle school music teacher in Central Pennsylvania. His son, Michael, is autistic. Michael is mostly non-verbal, and is the inspiration for the book, especially the main character, Fisher.

Paul does a great job showing us the side of autism we don't ...

Paul has written a very articulate description about what an Autistic person experiences. When most of us see an autistic person we are convinced by their very persona that they are void of insight, fantasy, thought, aspirations, social need, and much more. Paul does a great job showing us the side of autism we don't see and need to see. We seem to fear what we don't understand; read this book and be educated.

An insightful look at what it might be like to have autism. This book provides us with a look at the challenges people with autism have with communication. ...educates us to be more accepting and understanding of those with autism. Great story woven into everyday struggles. Angels are never far from our side. I'm looking forward to the next book, Dark Spectrum. LAC

Great for educators. I read this for one of my master courses and we interviewed the author. He gives a great perspective as a teacher and a father of a child with autism.
