Eric A. Kralicek has worked in the field of computer technology for over two decades, specifically with computer networking since 1984. He has been employed in companies large and small, public and private, using a variety of network operating systems in mixed environments. As a networking professional he has written numerous internal documents that have guided other professionals in their use of technical applications both on and off networked systems. Eric has been employed by Digital Computer Corporation as a Senior Information Management Specialist, Compaq Computer Corporation as a Senior System Software Engineer, dot com companies as an Information Technology Manager, and educational institutions providing network management and system integration. In every instance he has provided both technical skills and training documentation. Eric has a bachelor’s of Science degree in Computer Networking from Regis University, Denver, CO. He is Microsoft ITIL and PRINCE II certified. Eric worked for the California State University system as a Network Analyst supporting administrative computer operations in a mixed network environment prior to working for NATO as an IT Engineer.

I really like the subjects this book covers

I really like the subjects this book covers. I feel like I'm getting a good efficient education on core basics that take most people at least a year to learn via osmosis on the job. My only disappointment is the illustrations in the printed book are black and white, but the author seems to assume that they are in color when he refers to them. Other than that, I'm really pleased with this book.

This is the newest version of a very good manual. I think the price of it is a little high, but if your just starting out or need a refresher in all things IT, this is a great book to grab. It will not help you pass an exam, but you will not regret reading it. Only a fool thinks he knows it all or is above reading an entry level text.

Ryan Boud has been working in the IT field since 1998 when he started working part-time on a service desk while studying at Goldsmiths College, University of London. After graduating, he worked his way up to manage the customer IT service desk. Hyper-V Network Virtualization Cookbook is a valuable resource for any admin looking to understand and implement a full-featured SCVMM network infrastructure.

The Hyper-V Network Virtualization Cookbook is a focused, step-by-step resource for understanding System Center Virtual Machine Manager networking, which is arguably the most complex component of the SCVMM/Hyper-V environment. I found the recipes for every step, including foundational components like services, groups and policies, to installing SQL and SCVMM, to configuring Logical Networks, Port Profiles, Logical Switches, Network Isolation and Network ACLs helpful in understanding not only the concepts, but also the flow for implementing them. The Microsoft approach is very different from other technologies, such as from VMware or Citrix, and the book provides concise "learning by doing" sections. It also keeps a very enterprise mindset and includes highly-available designs.

There are two drawbacks to the book. First is the title. It book is geared to SCVMM and not the basic, out-of-the box Hyper-V networking (which is relatively easy to grasp and doesn't need too much explanation). Second, it doesn't cover installing Hyper-V, though this task isn't too difficult either and is covered in other books. By the time you look at SCVMM, you probably have a good understanding of Hyper-V.

I liked this book. He explains how to clear the network under Hyper-V virtualization.
There is clear explanation, with the images and screenshots for better understanding.
"I love parties" How it Works "and How to di it".
Configurations are explained via the GUI and via Powershell.
No need to have great skills for used this book.
This book allows to have good knowledge on the virtualization of the network under Hyper-V.

This book would be useful to any Hyper-V user on virtually any version of Hyper-V because it explains why you would make certain choices rather than walking through a step by step series of screen shots. Light on content, but focuses on important basics

I think this is a worthwhile book for someone who is beginning a sales career or has an antagonist attitude toward the profession, but wants to change that maybe because they are starting a business, doing consulting, etc. It is particularly good for people who don't feel comfortable with the whole idea of selling, but realize it's an important skill and is even required in daily life e.g. to sell an idea, convince a child to do something in their best interests, etc.

I have read some reviews of this book that sound harsh; I think that some of them may be overstated. While this book is short, simple and a quick read, it does a very good job of driving the basics home in a way that represents the sales profession well and honors an ethical approach to business. While the ideas themselves are simple, their application on a daily basis is not. If you read this book and embody the principles, it will make a big difference in your attitude toward sales as a profession, to your customers and to your personal income.

I think almost everyone reading this has probably been on the receiving end of a bad or unscrupulous salesperson. They unfortunately are not rare and give the profession a bad name. Their tactics are coercive and manipulative. This is not the kind of sales that this book talks about.

Personally, I think a good salesperson earns their money by helping a customer to understand their needs, asks powerful questions that bring out the implications of their customer's business situation and presents options that the customer will feel good about. They also build relationships based on trust, superior product knowledge and professionalism. They keep their commitments, follow through on promises and know the difference between persuasion and manipulation.

This book is a book that uses story to demonstrate what makes a professional salesperson in the best sense of the word. In a nutshell, it's about mastering the basics and doing them from the heart, not with a desire to manipulate. I think this is a worthwhile message to get out there and it really does work, espeically in the long run.

Golfers, bowlers and other athletes revisit the basics frequently, often practicing them on a daily basis. The same principle applies to sales and this book does a good job of driving home the importance of mastering fundamental sales skills.

I agree with some reviews that this book is light on content. However, if a potential salesperson learns even one thing from this book that helps them to do their job better, they will easily pay for the cost of a new copy. If they form one good habit as a result of reading it, it will pay for itself many times over. With that said, why not buy it used if you are skeptical and worried that it will be a quick read? The words are the same and you might learn something. (I do agree that this book is overpriced, however.)

Personally, I have read this book more than once and I have periodically reviewed the material throughout the years. I don't think it's as good as the "One Minute Manager," but it's good. It's difficult to be a GREAT salesperson. You need to study the principles, embody them and maintain your balance, integrity and ethical principles often in the face of tempting or difficult situations. Given this reality, I think a book like this that inspires is a worthwhile read. This is especially true in a profession where a lot of people slam doors in your face and you need to deal well with rejection every day.

Does its stated purpose, which is provide in a question and answer format a survey of the different fields of household chemicals and pertinent information. Can be very interesting if you are curious about everyday items, and can help save you time and money, as well as appreciate things you deal with daily. It is not a technical reference book, but rather provides the interesting information we are all curious about.

Glorified FAQ on the basic household chemicals

I got this book because I wanted to learn more about cleaning products and particularly degreasers. This book has absolutely nothing on degreasers, even though there is a whole chapter on Garage chemicals.

The format of the book is like an FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions). It's not an encyclopedia of household products as you may suspect from the publishers description. It covers just the very basic products/chemicals and doesn't go in depth on anything in particular. There are no pictures or diagrams, just text.

I would not recommend this book. I'm still looking for a good book that covers a wide variety of household chemicals in detail.
